The Bears have a lot of work to do this off-season coming off a winning season with a divisional round loss against the Rams. While the Bears offense took off with first year head coach Ben Johnson, the defense struggled. Here is what I predict the Chicago Bears will look at in free agency:
CB Alontae Taylor- 3 Year deal (Who Bears tried trading for at the deadline)
LT Taylor Decker- 1 Year deal
WR Jalen Nailor- 2 Year deal
Edge Kingsley Enagbare- 2 Year deal
S Kevin Byard- 1 Year deal
S Coby Bryant- 3 Year deal
LB Demario Davis- 1 Year deal
DT David Onyemata- 1 Year deal
I believe those will be the "big" signings in free agency for the Bears. Ryan Poles going in the direction of veterans on cheap short term deals to fill the defense out. I can also see the Bears going after names like Nick Cross, Cam Jordan, and Nakobe Dean. The Bears have four top 100 picks in this year draft, with maybe fifth on the way, if the NFL awards the Bears the comp picks for the asst. GM Ian Cunningham leaving for Atlantas GM position. I think Ryan Poles and the Bears philosophy this off-season will be to attack free agency by signing veterans with leadership presence that can still make an impact, then drafting with their picks to eventually replace and learn behind said veterans.
